Thanks to the current stable life (at least for now) we have been eating out for at least 1 meal almost every weekend. I think In Seattle the price settings are as same as in Tokyo. Even the cheapest costs at the lowest 6-7 dollars (except for beer). In addition to it, we have to chip in by 20% on top of the bill. if you go to a restaurant with a group of 2 and order 2-3 dishes and some drinks, it costs 50-80 dollars normally, or 30-40 dollars at an Asian food restaurant (except for Japanese food). We have been eating out to enjoy eating out, but it has been depriving me of the opportunities to cook at home at the same time. I told one of my friends that I had quit blogging, then she said, "it is a pity, it was interesting."
I thought, "Really?? how?," so I reviewed what I wrote in the past.
There I found myself cooking trying to make our life fun out of ingredients available and affordable.
At this time, I realized.
Eating at home is indeed as enjoyable as eating at a restaurant.
If you cook at home, you can make any Japanese food as you like, you can make use of organic vegetables, and it still costs much less and most importantly, we can enjoy food and and converstation without being concerned about time and money!
This thoughts made me realize that I now don't have reasons to eat out so often.
というわけで、今週は外食せず、家で2日とも作って食べた。 Therefore, I cooked at home for the both nights this weekend.

この日常に感謝☆ I appreciate these peaceful days I spend with Craig.
In America, hot cakes are generally called pancakes. I introduced the recipe to make super tasty pancakes once before in this blog, but we (at least I) have gotten fed with them while eating them every week. (it is inevitable that humans always crave more...) At this time, I considered the way to push these super tasty pancakes up to the next level. I consulted with the Internet who knows all things, saw so many pictures... and finally found out that the key is in "sauce." I cooked frozen organic raspberries with a little amount of water and cooled it down. (I couldn't add sugar anyhow due to guilty against sugar.) The raspberry sauce was not super sour cause it had been cooked. With the natural sourness and sweet honey/maple syrup, I could make pancake brought up to the next level! Tada-
I cooked one cup of raspberries into the amount of sauce which was good for 6 small pancakes with the enough amount of the sauce for each. Soooo tasty that it was touching at least for me. (Craig forgot to say "tasty" after the first bite since it was that tasty.)
It is not always easy to survive here, but when eating such tasty pancakes, I feel I am savoring the food unique to here, which I appreciate.
