Soba with vegetable tempura(TJ's)

晩御飯は
鮭缶と豆腐を使った
鮭ハンバーグ
ズッキーニのピリ辛ソテー
鮭缶の汁を使ったオメガ３ワカメ汁

Dinner:
Salmon burgers made with canned Salmon and tofu
with
spicy zucchini and mushrooms
seaweed soup with the Omega 3 juice from the salmon can.  

Congraturations on me surviving for 1 month!!

We went out to eat dinner to celebrate my survival for 1 month. Home made pickles...They reminded me of Japanese tsukemono. We ordered another.
1ヵ月突破祝いにご飯食べに行った。

Craig had his hair cut. It is me who cut it. I think I did a good job, but he was a little complaining since I cut too much. I dared to do so since we are lately busy and it is getting hot lately.
クレイグ散髪したー。
私切ったー。我ながら結構上手に切れたと思うんだけど、クレイグは切りすぎだとちょっと不満そうだった。
暑くなってきたしーなかなか切る時間ないしーと思ってのサービスだったのにな。

By the way, when we order food at restaurants, they ask us what we want for the sides. If we choose french fries, the amount is always too big to stay healthy. We have to be poised for our later suffering.
ちなみにこっちでは何か頼むと「つけ合わせどうしますか」って聞かれて、ポテトを選ぶとこんな風に、どう考えても全部食べたら体に悪いだろって言う量で来る。頼むときはその後胸焼けする覚悟が必要。

*ちなみにココのウエイトレスさんは、モヒカンだけどすっごく感じのいい人だった。人は見かけじゃない、うんうん。
*The server was a Mohawk lady, but super nice and friendly. We shouldn't judge by his/her look!

When I feel I am less poor than before (1)

I had a chance to pass by a cafe which an elderly man runs, making hand-made waffles, on the way back home from swimming. I bought 3 waffles ($2.5) and 2 croissants($1.75). I paid almost $10 for bread and waffles. It is expensive for waffles and croissants but we can afford this now! The croissants were very tasty but waffles were so-so. 
おじいさんが作る手作りワッフルが美味しいというお店の近くを土曜の朝の水泳の帰りに寄ってみた。ワッフル（＄2.5×3個）とクロワッサンを（＄1.75×2個）買った。こんなんで＄10もした。高っけーな・・・と思ったけど、それでも今は全然家計に影響しない。クロワッサン超おいしかった。ワッフルはまぁ普通。

"Spirits-raising" Route to Bus Stop

Recently I changed the bus to get to work, which turned out to be awesome!
最近バスの路線を変えたら、この路線がめちゃいい。

Reason1. I can see lots of flowers in the gardens since the route is through a residential area.
Reason 2. The bus driver is super nice and friendly.
Reason 3. It just makes me feel great to see and greet the woman who watch birds at the same spot every day.
理由１．バス停までの道が住宅街のど真ん中を突き抜ける道のため、お花がいっぱい！
理由２．バスの運転手さんがいつも超ナイス！
理由３．毎朝同じ場所でバードウォッチングしている人と挨拶するのかいい感じ。

Every thing is fresh and alive around this time of the year.
Every morning this route refreshes my mind to be ready for work. How nice!!

この道を通ると毎朝今日も頑張るぞーと思う。バス路線変えてよかったっ！今の季節すべてがFresh and Aliveですねー

Today's special on 5/20

It has been a while since I made Today's special last time. Today's special is fried selmon teishoku. Craig was so content that he clapped his hands to express his joy after meal. The selmon was deeply fried with crunchy panko served with aurora sauce. It was super euphoric when the mouth is filled with this combination.

パンダ食堂久しぶりの定食、本日はサーモンフライ定食。クレイグはごちそうさまのとき、喜びのあまり手を叩いて喜んでいた。カリカリの衣に包まれたサーモンとオーロラソースで口の中がいっぱいになる時はほんと至福ですな。

Today I shared a pizza with one of my co-workers.
With 3 toppings, it was $4.75: sharing it with two makes it $2.25!
We chose basil sauce and feta cheese with artichoke, sun dried tomato, hot pepper. 
Waiting for 5 mins to have it baked, here is the pizza super tasty and cheap! 

今日は社食でピザを食べた。
同僚の子と二人で分け分けしてちょうどいい量。
しかも二人で分けたら一人2.5ドル！
ソースもチーズも選べて、今回は、バジルソース、アーティチョーク、サンドライドトマト、ハラペーニョとフェタチーズ。。。焼いてくれる間5分待つ。うまい。居られるうちに、楽しんどく。。。
