Happy New Year!

I had been thinking about new year dishes : "I don't need to eat soba for the new year eve, I do't need to eat mochi for the new year day, I don't need to eat special new year dishes to cerebrate the new year brabrabra..." but when the new year aproached, I felt like eating traditional Japanese food as if it was mandatory as Japanese. My DNA ?
お正月何食べるかということについては、べつにおせち料理作んなくてもいいしーお持ち食べなくてもいいしーと思っていたのに、いざ年越しがせまると、年越しそばは食べなくてはとか、作れるものでおせちは作らなければとか考えるもので、結局、

So, I made

Seafood egg roll(伊達巻)
Red bean mochi(あんこもち)
Black beans(黒豆)
Daikon pickles(大根なます)
Mochi soup(お雑煮)
を作った。


I made red bean jelly mochi since they don't sell them. Mochi didn't become like mochi since it was sweet brown rice and that we don't have equipment to pound it. But it tastes like the one I used to eat for the new year time. We also ate white mochi which we bought. With mochi, I could feel I had a happy new year time.
お餅を作ろうとしたけど、買ったのが玄米餅米で餅つき機もなかったのでおはぎのべちゃべちゃしたみたいなのになった。でも味はあんもち雑煮だった。ベストを尽くしたということでよし。でも普通の切り餅も食べた。やっぱりお餅はおいしー。これがないと年は越せないね。
